Feel comfortable in your home year-round with an attic that is properly insulated.
Attics with proper insulation will not only allow you to maximize on energy savings throughout the year, but will also help keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
At Everlast, we will provide you with expert recommendations on what your attic needs. A great attic requires a minimum of R-50 value insulation.
R-Value is a measure of insulation’s ability to resist heat traveling through it. The higher the R-Value, the better the thermal performance of the insulation.
In 1992, the Ontario Building Code had a minimum attic insulation code of R-32. In recent years, the minimum code has increased to R-50–60. This means that there are several older homes that are under-insulated and do not meet the current building code. These are the homes that face higher energy costs and insufficient heating and cooling.
At Everlast, we prefer to use cellulose as our primary blown-in attic insulator.
- Holds a high density rate and R-Value (almost 1/3 higher than fiber glass)
- Lower health risk than fiber glass (through inhalation)
- Eco-friendly (made of recycled paper and cardboard)
- Fully fills all of the small crevices inside the attic to ensure a proper air seal
